About NDT

Non-destructive testing (NDT) is a wide group of analysis techniques used in science and industry to evaluate the properties of a material, component or system without causing damage. The terms Nondestructive examination (NDE), Nondestructive inspection (NDI), and Nondestructive evaluation (NDE) are also commonly used to describe this technology. Because NDT does not permanently alter the article being inspected, it is a highly-valuable technique that can save both money and time in product evaluation, troubleshooting, and research. Common NDT methods include ultrasonic, magnetic-particle, liquid penetrant, radiographic, remote visual inspection (RVI),eddy-current testing, and low coherence interferometry. NDT is a commonly-used tool in forensic engineering, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, civil engineering, systems engineering, aeronautical engineering, medicine, and art.

NDT Methods

NDT Methods

Eddy Current:

Eddy Current takes alternating electrical current to produce their own magnetic fields which can be measured and used to find flaws. This method detects surface and near-surface flaws in conductive materials,) permeability, and dimensional features. It is mainly applicable in oil and gas, mining, security, aviation, other industries.

Magnetic Particle Testing:

Magnetic Particle Testing uses magnetic field to inspect ferromagnetic material. The magnetic lines then forced to travel through materials to detect surface and near surface defects; and is widely used for welds, pipelines, automotive industries, military, and other needs of crack detection.

Penetrant Testing:

Penetrant inspection is applied to detect cracks or porosity on the surface of the material. Penetrant fills the cracks then a developer is used to pull the penetrant and see the form of defect. The application is exerted on automotive, welds, casting, leak testing, pipeline, aircraft and vessels, power plant inspection, just to name a few.

Radiography:

Radiography uses X-rays and gamma rays to measure thickness and internal features; detect surface and subsurface defects; and provide details of material through film or other detector. This technology is widely used in oil and gas industries; security, and many other possible applications to gain an optimal quality of the operation.

Remote Visual Inspection:

A comprehensive selection of remote viewing equipment from basics to digital video boroscopes is available to help you inspect areas with hindrance. If you are restrained from a clear view due to inaccessible sites or locations, this technology will provide you with visual access to inspection in aviation, oil and gas, mining, automotive, and aviation, among others.

Ultrasonic:

This method uses high frequency sound waves and energy to determine flaws, inspect material properties and any change in thickness. Ultrasonic locates surface and subsurface defects in materials like plastic, metal, woods, and others. Welding inspection is one of the industry that benefits this technology, aside from oil and gas, automotive, power plant, and other industries that require inspection.

Workshop and Calibration:

Pratita's own in-house workshop and calibration department was built to make sure we give our service to the fullest. This is our way of assuring that customers get the fullest even after they purchase products. Workshop and calibration is filled with competent human resource, and is acknowledged by the National Accreditation Committee (Komite Akreditasi Nasional/ KAN) for our services.

About Pratita

ABOUT Pratita

Established in 1983, PT. Pratita Prama Nugraha (Pratita) started its business supplying NDT products to fulfill the needs of its NDT customers. Throughout the years, Pratita has developed its businesses, encompassing various technologies covering many technologies for implementation in different industry sectors ranging from oil and gas, power plant, inspection companies, shipyard fabrication, aviation, fertilizer, pipe manufacturers, petrochemicals, and automotive. It has also expanded its business to cover medical supplies, devices, and consumables for hospitals and clinics throughout Indonesia.

In 2006, Pratita was appointed as the Authorized Dealer of NDT equipment for GE Inspection Technologies (GEIT), later on changed into GE Sensing and Inspection Technologies in Indonesia. The title gives Pratita a privileged access to play a significant role in the NDT industry in Indonesia.

As the business partner for many counterparts in the industries, Pratita is fully aware of customer’s needs for high quality products, and is determined to take on the challenge of providing continuous supply and maintaining excellent service. Our services include after sales service warranty, technical assistance, training, and updates on the latest technology to customers.

Pratita understands that the true foundation of a going concern business concept is trust from its valued customers as well as its national and international business partners. It is the very core that brings Pratita to exceed 25 years of business excellence in 2008, proving its ability to fulfill and maintain financial capabilities, strong existence in the industry, as well as customers’ trust.

With a total of 60 employees in Jakarta’s Head Office and its branches in Batam, Pekanbaru, Balikpapan, and Surabaya, Pratita makes sure it reaches out and answers to the need of our clients. Our personnel’s competence in Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Information Technology contribute significantly to the establishment of the Workshop and Calibration department. This department has been accredited by the National Accreditation Committee (KAN) and provide a support system that gives much additional value for the exclusive cooperation between Pratita and GE Sensing and Inspection Technology (recently changed in 2008 from GE Inspection Technologies).

In the last few years, Pratita has become more involved in Aviation and Power Generator industries, providing the latest information on the most upgraded technology in NDT, to ensure quality, safety and reliability.

Pratita is committed to take NDT to another level, and with its experience and network in a wide range of industries, we are ready to make Pratita the true partner in NDT.
